How long have you been a professional wedding photographer?
3 Years

How would you define your style of wedding photography?
I’m a chameleon photographer. I wouldn’t put my style into one category as each wedding and the couples expectations are so unique and different. Some couples want a lot of candid and others want a lot of nice portraits with most wanting a mix. It really depends on the couple and the flow of the day.

Other then photography what are some of your other hobbies / interests?
I really enjoy martial arts as I’m a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I’ve been doing Martial Arts for 17 years off and on. I’ve always wanted to get an acupuncture and massage license.

If you had an opportunity to say something publicly to a potential bride what would it be?
Enjoy your day! Make the day all about you guys and your love for each other. The best photographs are those little quiet moments between the bride and groom when you think no one is looking.

What piece of camera equipment you couldn’t live without?
Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS.

What is your favorite part of a wedding day?
The ceremony or right after because that is when most of the emotion is taking place.

Hard to pick one definite style but pj/documentary style for
naturally/unobtrusively capturing emotions and fine art for adding a little
creative flare.

Psychology, meditation, travel, camping, hiking, reading…
If you had an opportunity to say something publicly to a potential bride what
would it be?

Enjoy! Time goes by fast; enjoy the planning, the wait, the nerves… and when
the day comes – let it go- Love and be loved…

What piece of camera equipment you couldn’t live without?
I can’t live without
a camera – any camera – period…other than that, although not a camera
equipment but sort of an extension of it, my imagination.
What is your favorite part of a wedding day?
I love the feel of anticipation ( nerves, chaos, laughter or silence -everybody
is different and I love seeing those reactions…each so full of emotion). I
also love the transitions of emotions that happen throughout the day.

Peer networking and referrals

I’m a strong believer in karma so if you do good to others, good will come back to you. If a potential New York bride contacts you for a wedding date and you are booked refer her to a New York Wedding photographer. It’s as simple as that, refer her to one of the wedding photographers listed on this blog, and someone will do the same for you. Write about this blog on your own blog and the good will come back to you.

Thank you Richard.

Hi everyone please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Christos and I own and operate Photography By Christos. I won’t take advantage of my first post for self promotion but would rather highlight on Richards thoughts and some of the photographers that have gratefully contributed to this blog thus far.

I’ve met with Richard a few times over the course of the last few weeks, after he sent out the original questioner. And unfortunately do to certain reason I’m unable to get into, Richard would be unable to promote and maintain this blog, so I will be taking over for him.

When I first saw my name mentioned on this blog I was honored. Then I saw who else was listed, I couldn’t believe it, I was being listed with some of the top wedding photographers in New York. Holly cow can you image how stoked I was when my blog and website was listed along side of Angelica Glass, Neil Cowley and Daniel Coyle, I practically peed in my pants.

I agree with Richard on the vision for this blog, the ability for brides in New York and Long Island in being able to easily find and communicate with wedding photographers. The success of this blog also depends on us to spread the word that hey, have you seen this site listing Wedding photographer in New York? That is what I want brides to think and talk about. I want this site to beat out some off the other sites that list photographers in New York, as my sons favorite cartoon character says, can we do it? Yes we can.

Now I don’t won’t this site too become a free for all, all photographers websites sites will be reviewed and screened for creativity and uniqueness, as Richard has originally stated. That is why I wondered why I was listed, can it be because of my niche market, well that’s another story.

Let’s give ourselves another opportunity for FREE advertisement, if you have a story to share please send me an e-mail with pictures, I will more then happy to post it hear as well giving you the author / creator full credit with a link back to your site. I believe this is a win-win situation for all of us. I can be reached at nyweddingphotographer AT hotmail DOT com.

Now I have a couple of photographers in the spotlight queue, so once I get situated I will be posting you all up. Now let’s get New York Wedding Photographer rolling baby.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me I’ll be more then happy to answer them for you.

Thanks

Christos

Handing over the reigns

Folks this is Richard, I started this blog not that long ago but due too certain circumstance I won’t be able to maintain it as I would have loved to.

Since I don’t want to let this good idea die, I have contacted one of the photographers on the list that actually lives about 2 minutes away from me. So everybody I’ll be handing the reigns over to Christos, a wedding photographer in Queens NY. I’m going to give him the user name and password for New York Wedding Photographer. I hope this grows into a huge resource for photographers and brides alike. I will let Christos introduce himself a bit later on.

Thanks again to everyone that has shown an interest in New York Wedding Photographer.

Thank You

Richard.

How would you define your style of wedding photography?
Genuine

Other then photography what are some of your other hobbies / interests?
My primary pursuit previous to photography was rock climbing, mountain biking, kayaking and hiking over as much of God’s green earth as I could manage. I would average 100 days a year on the trail and as many as 80 nights a year sleeping on the ground. I became a parent about the same time I started studying art and so have been focused on learning the craft, starting a business and being a great husband and dad since. My wife just reminded me that I love to rock out to music, as well as using my hands to build just about anything.

If you had an opportunity to say something publicly to a potential bride what would it be?
Make your love real, think of every possible way that you can creatively express your love to your groom, your family and your friends. Absorb yourself in that and you will find fulfillment and everything good in the wedding process.

What piece of camera equipment you couldn’t live without?
Well, assuming that I have a camera of some kind already. It would be a mono-light to give me enough light to take pictures in any location or situation.

What is your favorite part of a wedding day?
Getting to know the people involved and being surprised by their actions and reactions throughout the day.
